The Paleolithic, or cave-man, diet attempts to mimic the presumed eating habits of our hunter-gather ancestors millennia ago, before the advent of agriculture and predominantly grain-based diets. Focus is on consuming organic, free-range and non-processed food in general – all processed and refined foods like dairy, bread and alcohol are eliminated. This diet is popular for weight loss and general health reasons.
